What People Are Saying “Since the battery has been installed I have about 1500 miles more on the bike. I have ridden everything from sanctioned dual sport rides, desert 150 milers, forest and tight canyons with a lot of starting and stopping. In the whole time that the battery has been in my bike, it has never failed to start the bike, I have never had to use the kicker, and I have not had to put it on a charger or tender….ever. get the battery from joet.......you wont have to ever think about batteries again. -Skullhat- May 24, 2009(KTMTalk) |
“I didn't realize it but the electronic fuel pump was going out. For the week that it was on it's way out I could still get it started but only with lots of cranking. I quickly would go thru the stock battery and was amazed how long it would keep turning over with your battery. -RickyP- Feb 11 2009 (KTMTalk) |
“I have over 700 trail miles on my dual sported HTR 350 (250 XCF-W) using Joe's 5 Ah battery, and thus far it is working like a champ, -ChasM- Feb 11 2009 (KTMTalk) |
"get a lithium battery for JoeT ktmtalk member and forget about it you won't need anything" -katoom10- April 7, 2009 (KTMTalk)
"The 5ah battery Joe sent me is working flawlessly. I know of at least two times where my 505 would have run the YTZ7S down and not started. The Turntech battery continued to spin the motor over until she fired up. " -Serpexc- March 26, 2009 (KTMTalk) |
"Stock battery and mount equals 6.4 lbs. Turntech's claimed weight for the 2.5A is .7 (yes POINT 7) lbs. That's 5.7 lbs. off the subframe. After a hundred miles and multiple starts it works as good if not better than the stocker. (This is not a paid advertisement for Joe Turner's (Turntech) batteries, but if he wants to send me a check I'll take it )" -Rokon- May 25, 2009 (DRZ-thumpertalk.com) |
"I just wanted to report back about this Turntech battery. I have ridden the bike about 3 weeks and this 2.5 battery works like a charm. It is on a 2008 TE 450 and I really think it starts the bike better than the stock battery. I have ridden the ugly stuff with stalling and it always has enough juice to fire the bike. It is so much lighter than a stock one I highly recommend this battery." - raisrx251- May 25, 2009 (cafehusky.com) |
"I installed my new TurnTech 5 amp/hour battery today. Bike fired up first attempt. I've had the battery for a couple weeks just sitting in my basement. I didn't need to charge it at all. It is very light and quite a bit smaller than the Yuasa. I ended up using some heavy duty zip ties to secure it in the battery box. So far so good, time will tell..." -SuperMotoMike- (husaberg.org) |
"Just installed a 5aH version in my '04 525EXC, cranks that thing over way faster than my last battery, (which was new last year). Fitment into my batt box was real easy, used the stock rubber straps, just had to change them so one strand of the strap went up and around the batt post, fits very snug but not too tight. -8flat- (KTMTalk) |
"Just a quick report - I have Joe's 2.5 Amp-hr for my '05 525 EXC. I went for my first real ride today with it. Since I just got it and it wasn't fully charged, I just kicked it to start and didn't even try the batter. I rode for about 30 minutes before trying the starter, and it did fine. I shut it off several times during the 2-hour ride, and it always started fine. I think it turns it over a hair slower than the stock battery that I replaced, but it always started and the weight savings are huge! Thanks, Joe!" -Burt- (KTMTalk)

"Now a short story (I HOPE). I put the 5AH in my 250 XC-F and fired it up a couple of times on a Saturday a couple of weeks back. On Sunday I tried to fire the bike with no success. I eventually found out the plug was fouled badly. The bike generally started easily so I kept trying. I must have tried it 30 or so times or more. I gave up and took my 450. The next day I put the battery over in my 525 SMR and it had decided not to start. Must have tried it 20 to 30 times. I gave up! Screwy carb! I put the battery back in the 250 until I got a plug wrench to fit so I could check out the plug. Pulled the plug and replaced it and tried to start the bike. No Joy Battery dead. Charged it over night and the next morning the bike started with maybe 1/2 revolution. I can say the battery was tortured and held up well. You are correct....when it is gone it is gone. I did not notice a slow down in the cranking at all and then it just would not turn the bike over. I was impressed. Not so short eh?" "This weekend one of our riders was having a problem with his charging system or the total draw on his system. We rode for about an hour and his battery (a new 5 series Yuasa that had been fully charged) played out and he spent the rest of the day kicking the bike. On day two I put my Turn Tech 5AH in his bike and put his Yuasa in my bike. I kicked my bike over and never looked back as it started fine all day. I have no fan nor lights etc. The Turn Tech started his bike right up and never let him down all day. I guess the Turn Tech really does charge up faster than the Lead Acid batteries." I love the Turn Tech battery and can't say enough about the performance and about Joe's response and enthusiasm. I hope to get the 2.5Ah soon and while I will be purchasing it for the 250, I can give it a try in the larger bikes and give my feedback in it's performance." -JSS- (KTMTalk)
